You'll find most of the details in the "Town Hall Music Day Flier."
Our hammered dulcimer club (Saginaw Subterranean Strings) is partnering with Glen and Judi Morningstar to host an event at Frankenmuth's Fischer Hall next to the Historical Museum on Main Street, Frankenmuth, MI.
Glen has often mentioned to us that he feels Fischer Hall, with its beautiful wood floor and authentic quality, would be the perfect site for a contra dance.
The event will be held Saturday, November 24th (the Saturday after Thanksgiving).
This will replace our club's Snowfest Concert event since, because of a scheduling conflict, our club won't be able to hold our annual Snowfest Concerts in 2008. Our 14 years of Snowfest shows always drew standing-room-only crowds.
Concert Schedule:
12:00-1:00 - large jam session with members of Saginaw Subterranean Strings and invited guest musicians
1:00-1:45 - Sonas -
Sonas is comprised of DeeDee Tibbits (hammered dulcimer, whistle), Tom Krause (guitar and bass), and Bruce McCartney (fiddle). This talented group plays Celtic music, fiddle tunes, close harmony vocals, and original compositions.

2:45-3:30 - Picks and Sticks -
Picks and Sticks is made up of Sherry & Morgan Humecky and Mike & Sue Gleason. This award winning four-some provides a showcase for Sherry on hammered dulcimer, Morgan on banjo and guitar, Mike on fiddle and many other instruments and Sue on bass. (See http://pickssticks.com)
3:30-4:30 - final group jam session.
4:30-5:00 set up for potluck (all who attend will bring a dish-to-pass)

We believe we have the makings of a very successful event. It'll be FREE. We will have a free-will collection box which will be donated to the Frankenmuth Historical Museum.
